Why do busy business owners join the
Small Business Consortium?

The numbers speak for themselves….and we are just getting started.

We all contribute to the growth of our region. Shouldn’t we all benefit as well?

The wealth of potential in the Charlotte Metropolitan region is undeniable. Taking advantage of the vision, skills and know-how of every qualified member of the business community is key to fair and sustainable economic development.

The purpose of the Small Business Consortium is to educate small business owners about government contracting to promote business and economic growth.

Our members gain valuable access to insider information on how to best secure contracts with the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and state of North Carolina.

How It Works

Get Involved!

The Small Business Consortium evolved from a community forum convened by Commissioner Vilma Leake. Her purpose was to ensure that all business owners in the community were afforded an opportunity to share in the region’s growth.

The voluntary contributions of local business owners has helped to expand her original vision. If you have time, talents, or ideas that you wish to contribute as well, please click here. (link to volunteer application)
